Child Protection Standards
Adopted: 09.10.2026
The Polish version of this document is binding; this translation is for information only.
01General rules
We issue these Standards based on Art. 22b and 22c of the Act of 13 May 2016 on counteracting sexual crime threats and protecting minors (Poland). Organiser: SP- CLUB STSIAPAN PAPOU, ul. Tęczowa 79/81, 53-601 Wrocław. Person responsible for the Standards: Stsiapan Papou, tel. +48 889 297 030, kontakt@orion-bjj.pl.
The well-being and safety of the child are of the utmost importance at the Club. The personnel — coaches, instructors, receptionists and other people in contact with children, regardless of their form of employment — treat children with respect and respond to every sign of harm: physical, psychological, sexual abuse or neglect.
02Personnel verification
Before being allowed to work with children, each person:
- is checked in the Register of Sexual Offenders (RPS);
- provides a certificate from the National Criminal Register (KRK);
- submits a declaration of countries of residence in the last 20 years and information from their criminal registers, and a person with non-Polish citizenship — also information from the criminal register of their country of citizenship.
03How personnel treat children
- They address children with respect, without name-calling, ridicule or humiliating shouting.
- They touch a child only when demonstrating a technique, spotting, helping with an injury or comforting, and when doing techniques on the ground, they explain what they are doing.
- They work with a child in a place visible to others — with the door open or in the presence of another adult.
- They contact a child outside of classes only through parents or in a group chat with parents present.
04What personnel are forbidden to do
- use physical punishments or exercises as a punishment humiliating the child;
- stay alone with a child behind closed doors, in a changing room or toilet, except in an emergency;
- message a child privately, invite them home or drive them in a car without a parent's consent;
- give a child gifts that single them out from others or promise benefits in exchange for a secret;
- photograph or record children in a changing room or toilet;
- be under the influence of alcohol or other substances during classes.
05Children among themselves
Children respect each other's boundaries. Hitting outside of drills, name-calling, ridicule, excluding from the group and recording others without their consent are forbidden. Techniques are performed according to the coach's instructions and grips are released immediately after a tap or a STOP signal.
For children with disabilities and special needs, personnel adapt the way of communication, assistance and reporting harm to their capabilities.
06If a child may be harmed
Signs: a child talks about harm; bruises not explained by training; a sudden change in behaviour or fear of a specific person; neglect.
- Whoever notices, listens to the child calmly, does not promise secrecy and reports the matter to the responsible person on the same day.
- Threat to life or health — call 112.
- Suspicion of a crime — report to the police or prosecutor's office; threat to the child's well-being — family court; domestic violence — social welfare centre or police ("Niebieskie Karty" procedure).
- The parent is informed unless they are the one harming the child. A support plan is established with the participation of the child and a safe guardian.
- A staff member suspected of causing harm is immediately suspended from classes with children.
- Every report is described in an intervention card and kept in a locked cabinet for 5 years.
07Image and the internet
- We publish photos of children only with the consent from the agreement, without a surname and information about where the child lives or goes to school; never in a changing room, incompletely dressed or in humiliating situations.
- The club does not provide children with devices or networks with internet access. During classes, children use their phones only with the coach's consent; personnel respond to harmful content and cyberbullying.
08Implementation and review
Every staff member familiarises themselves with the Standards and confirms it with a signature before starting work with children. The Standards are available on this website and displayed in the Club. At least once every 2 years, the responsible person evaluates them, records conclusions and introduces changes.
